Lyrics

(The sound of heavy, metallic thumping—like a heartbeat echoing in a tin can. Low, distorted resonator guitar enters.) [Verse 1] I woke up to a rhythm I didn't recognize. A steady pulse of metal right behind my eyes. I’m a Ladner breed, born for the Mississippi mud. But there’s something cold flowing where there used to be blood. My "cold nose" is gone, replaced by a ping. But I can still feel the pull of a Beach Creek spring.  [Chorus] It’s a Ladner’s heart in a ribcage of steel. Fighting the wires just to find what is real. They fused the Ultra-Graft into my very bone. But they forgot that a Cur always finds his way home. Thud, thud, against the titanium wall. I’m a hound of the future, but I hear the woods call.  [Verse 2] Shadowy figures, they misjudged the soul. They thought they could keep me under control. They gave me the GPS, they gave me the time. But they can’t map the spirit or the mountain I’ll climb. I’m "Project Redemption," a second-hand dog. Running through the sensors and the Mississippi fog.  [Outro] (The music speeds up, mimicking a panicked heartbeat) Heart against metal. Flesh against gear. The heart of a Ladner... Is the only thing they should fear. (Style Description: Mid-tempo Swamp Rock with a heavy Industrial edge. Stomping percussion that sounds like metal pipes hitting the floor. Deep, fuzzy electric guitar riffs mixed with a frantic, rhythmic banjo. Vocals: Emotional, raw Southern drawl with a slight metallic reverb/echo. Atmosphere: Claustrophobic, gritty, determined.)
